Taking art requests

Sat Dec 5, 2009, 11:19 AM
because I am dry on inspiration. I also want to practice doing things for other people because I hope to be good enough to ask for commissions some day, and want to be able to give people what they want

These probably won't be the best things you see from me ever but it will help a lot to get me working.
But please, only like five at a time. So I'll edit this with the order people ask for things.

If you request something try to be specific, with like, moods and colors and what style you like the best. And if it's a character try to provide a link to a picture or a detailed description in your comment, not just 'blue hair and red eyes' or something

Thank you all so much.

brb can't draw

Sat Nov 21, 2009, 7:53 AM
I have no tablet or textures or any of the stuff i usually use in my pictures and frankly I've forgotten how to use a mouse. I'm probably going to stop drawing as much because I don't like the pieces i've made or even most of my gallery, my self confidence is like...zapped. so you'll be seeing less of me while i get my shit in order. aaaugh

Redo! Contest to self. oh yeah, and I'm back.

Sat Oct 10, 2009, 7:25 AM
OK, so I'm out of classes for the timebeing which means major boredomtime, but also an oppertunity for me to work on things.

I'm going to start a new project called Redo, where I go back and recreate old pieces of mine that I think work conceptually, but are lacking in other things (anatomy, strait up skill, lines are messy, the style is outdated ect)

each piece I remake i will list the reasons why i think it could use improvement, and in the Redo I will try my hardest to make sure those requirements are met, so the new piece will always be better than the original.

I encourage other people to do this too! It's a good practice in learning to let go of old pieces that don't work anymore and finding a way to recycle them.

OK, enough rambling. The form for each piece is:

Title: (link to the original)
Original Medium: (What did you choose to draw this in? Paint, computer program, pig feces?)
Redo! Medium: (What are you using now. Was the original too ambitious or something? Pig feces can be hard to shade with.)
Objective: Why did you make the pieces to begin with?
Was the Objective reached?: Probably not or you wouldn't be redoing it.
Things that can use improvement:
-blah
-blah
-cocks
-blah
-ect
Why it deserves a redo: this one may be harder than the others to fill out after you beat up on it so much.

My current piece is

Death hue: [link]

Original medium: Photoshop elements

Redo! Medium: MS Paint (classy)

Objective: to vent frustration with my current style and the fact that the only thing I had going for me was ‘cool colors’

Was the objective reached? Yes, but later, after this piece was created.

Things that can use improvement:
-Head is oversized
-limbs are stumps
-the crop is lazy and cuts out difficult to draw parts of the body
-facial features are awkward and uneven
-after a certain point you can’t even tell what’s going on
-too brightly colored, it hurts to look at
-overall anatomy is horrifying
-A self portrait that doesn’t really look like me
-clothes poorly cover up anatomyfail

Why it deserves a redo:
The color splatters thing was fun, the color scheme itself was cool, and the concept is interesting (supposed to be rainbow blood crimscene)
